Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your private safari adventure begins with morning pickup from your Arusha town hotel or Arusha Airport. After a briefing with your guide, we depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's scenic viewpoints before afternoon game drives. Tarangire boasts incredible wildlife densities in the dry season (June-October) when animals congregate around the Tarangire River. Look for lions, leopards, giraffes, and over 550 bird species.
As the sun sets, we drive to your chosen accommodation near Ngorongoro (Ngorongoro Forest Tented Camp, Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge, or similar mid-range lodge) for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.
Day 2: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we descend into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with possible wildlife sightings en route to Serengeti. Enter Serengeti at Naabi Hill Gate for picnic lunch before afternoon game drives in Central Serengeti.
This area is rich with resident wildlife year-round including lions, leopards, cheetahs and elephants. Your guide will take you to prime wildlife viewing locations based on current animal movements and seasonal patterns.
Arrive at your chosen accommodation (Serengeti Tortilis Camp, Serengeti Signature Luxury Tented Camp, or similar mid-range lodge) in time for sunset views over the endless plains. Dinner and overnight in the heart of Serengeti.
Day 3: Full Day Serengeti Safari
Today is dedicated to full day game drives in Serengeti with optional early morning hot air balloon safari (additional cost). After breakfast, explore different ecosystems of the park - from kopjes (rock outcrops) favored by lions to riverine forests and open grasslands.
The Serengeti offers incredible sightings year-round: witness the Great Migration (Dec-Jul) or resident predator action (Aug-Nov). Enjoy picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint while watching wildlife.
Continue game viewing in the afternoon, searching for elusive leopards, hunting cheetahs, and massive elephant herds. Return to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight, sharing stories of the day's sightings around the campfire.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning game drive in Serengeti with breakfast at the lodge. Search for wildlife you may have missed previously - perhaps wild dogs, serval cats, or a pride of lions on the hunt.
After lunch, begin your drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at your chosen accommodation (Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp, Ngorongoro Ang'ata Camp, or similar mid-range lodge) in time for sunset views over the caldera. Dinner and overnight with cooler highland temperatures.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour - Return to Arusha
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at dawn when wildlife is most active. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts about 25,000 large animals in its volcanic caldera, including all the Big Five.
Morning game drives offer excellent chances to see endangered black rhinos, large elephant herds and abundant predators. Enjoy breakfast at the scenic Ngoitokitok picnic site near a hippo pool, surrounded by wildlife.
After lunch, ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha (approximately 4 hours), arriving by late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or airport, concluding your unforgettable 5-day Tanzania safari experience.
